CINCINNATI -- Tom Brady's been on the field at Paul Brown Stadium for nearly 20 minutes. He hasn't yet thrown a ball, lending credence to the belief he will not play in the team's preseason opener.

Brady, wearing a gray Patriots t-shirt and blue shorts, did sprints and is now engaged in conversation.

Rookie Matt Cassel was the first Patriots quarterback on the field. Doug Flutie and Rohan Davey followed.

Stephen Neal, Matt Light and Dan Koppen were the first Patriots on the field.

It's in the low 90s and hazy here and the misters are going full blast on the sidelines.
