Hey all --

There's a lot to get into, but I wanted to post the Pats' newest signing before anything else. The team has signed veteran cornerback Chidi Iwuoma, late of the Steelers, to the 53-man roster. He will wear number 29.

Iwuoma, a California native, is listed at 5-foot-9, 184 pounds. He was cut by Pittsburgh a month ago to make room for quarterback Brian St. Pierre after Ben Roethlisberger's emergency appendectomy.

A special teams captain with the Steelers, Iwuoma (pronounced eye-WO-ma) has spent the vast majority of his four-year career on special teams. In his rookie year, 2001 with Detroit, he began the season on the practice squad but was moved to the active roster due to injuries; he ended up playing in 13 games with one start.

Also the team has signed offensive lineman Sean Bubin to its practice squad. A 6-foot-7, 307-pound tackle, Bubin was an All-Big Ten performer at Illinnois. He has yet to play in an NFL game in two-plus pro seasons.
