New England waived special teamer/corner Chidi Iwuoma and rookie offensive lineman Brian Barthelmes today.
Iwuoma, cut by the Steelers early in the season and signed by the Pats on Oct. 4, played in three games and made two special teams tackles.
Barthelmes, signed as an undrafted rookie free agent and then cut during training camp, was re-signed to New England's practice squad last Wednesday.
The move puts the Patriots at 52 players on the 53-man roster, and one under the scout team limit of eight.
