Bill Belichick began his press conference by saying, "Top to bottom, they did a better job than we did. It's disappointing. We didn't do enough things well enough to win the game. We ended up losing a tough division game, and obviously it was disappointing to lose."
In the locker room, it was the Richard Seymour Show, as he was the only player that made himself available to the media. Ellis Hobbs, who took the blame for the loss to the Jets last night, was in the room but declined to comment.
Seymour, however, has said quite a bit today. During his weekly appearance on WEEI this morning, the defensive lineman said, "I don't mind giving blunt, honest answers. It was the coaches' decision, it wasn't Richard Seymour's decision. If it was my decision, I'd be out there, it's as simple as that." He also challenged the EEI hosts, in this case Glenn Ordway and the afternoon show, to ask Belichick themselves about Seymour's playing time.
Belichick said that Seymour played about the same number of plays that he normally does.
