The Patriots have just announced the signing of RB Lamont Jordan. The NFL Network is reporting it as a one-year deal.
To make room for him, WR Robert Ortiz was released.
Jordan, 29, is a veteran of seven NFL seasons. He was first drafted by the Jets in the second round (49th overall) of the 2001 draft and spent four years in New York. Jordan was a reserve with the Jets but signed a free-agent deal with Oakland before the 2005 season where he became a starter.
The Raiders released Jordan on Friday; he reportedly was also considering the Saints as his next landing spot.
