NFL Network's Adam Schefter is reporting that the Patriots have signed free-agent running back Lamont Jordan. Jordan was released by the Raiders yesterday; he had spent the prior three years with Oakland, but as the team drafted Darren McFadden, Jordan became expendable.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Jordan is in town for a visit with the Patriots today.
