Nick Kaczur spoke with the media today for the first time since the news of his legal difficulties came to light, and the first thing he said was "I definitely made a mistake."

On April 27, Kaczur was pulled over on the New York State Thruway for going 76mph in a 65mph zone; during the stop, he was found to be in possession of 202 OxyContin pills manufactured in his native Canada. He did not have a prescription for the pills. OxyContin is an powerful pain killer with opiate-like effects on the body. An overdose can cause severe respiratory depression that can lead to death.

Kaczur was charged with seventh-degree misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. During a court appearance last month, Kaczur reached a deal that puts the drug charge on hold; he paid $355 in fines and fees.

"I definitely made a mistake," Kaczur said today. "It's football season now. I'm trying to put
everything behind me and concentrate on the season now. It's a good thing I have the support of a great organization and my teammates were all behind and my family and my wife. It's just time to focus on the season now and put everything behind me."

Kaczur began training camp on the PUP list but came off last Sunday and has been working at left tackle in the absence of Matt Light.
