redd off , faulk doesn't count ?

todd -- Faulk doesn't count for this week, but when he returns to the team on Sept. 8, the Pats will have to make a corresponding roster move. Redd was likely a victim of numbers -- NE has Vrabel, A. Thomas, Woods and Crable at OLB. But if he clears waivers, I'd be surprised not to see him on the practice squad. -- smy

Kyle -- my apologies. Redd was cut. But if he clears waivers, I'd be surprised if he wasn't back on practice squad. -- smy

Hi, Shalise -
Are you as surprised as I am that Cassel wasn't released? What do you think BB might see in him that we are all missing?

Hi Laura -- I'm a bit surprised, but the only thing I can think of is that he is more experienced in the Pats' system, and also I don't think they could keep him around on the practice squad. From our time in the locker room today it looked like Gutierrez will be back on p-squad, as he still had a locker (no name tag) with a number 7 practice jersey in it. For other players they cut with p-squad eligibility -- Santonio Thomas, Antwain Spann -- that wasn't the case. -- smy
