The Patriots sent out a release today asking fans attending Thursday night's exhibition game against the Ravens to anticipate heavy traffic in the area surrounding Gillette Stadium. The team says it has experienced additional traffic delays on weeknights when event traffic is added to the already heavy traffic during the evening commute on the nearby interstates and along Route 1.

Fans who are planning on attending the game are encouraged to allow plenty of time for their commute to the stadium. Drivers not attending the game are encouraged to seek alternate routes avoiding Route 1 near Gillette Stadium on Thursday afternoon and evening. All commuters are encouraged to be patient.

The parking lots at Gillette Stadium open at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gates to the stadium open at 5:30. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

Fans should be aware that most parking is now located across Route 1 from the stadium and that parking is limited on the stadium side of Route 1. The largest, most efficiently accessed parking lots are the P10 and P11 lots, located directly across Route 1 from Gillette Stadium. Access and egress to and from the stadium parking lots is much quicker in these lots if fans arriving on Route 1 from the north use the right lanes to access P10. Likewise, fans arriving from the south are strongly encouraged to use the left lanes to access P11 or P10.

For more information about parking at Gillette Stadium, fans can visit www.gillettestadium.com and click on "Parking."

Fans seeking alternative transportation to the game are encouraged to take the T. The MBTA offers service to every Patriots home game. For more information about attending Patriots games via MBTA, please visit the MBTA websit or call the MBTA at 617-222-3200. Fans may also call the Patriots ticket office information line at (800) 543-1776.
