Junior Seau, who is enjoying his "semi-retirement" in his native San Diego, conducted an interview with XX Sports Radio recently and said he's enjoying the peaceful life he's living currently, surfing, spending time with his kids, working with his charitable organization and brining the Ruby Tuesday's restaurant chain to Southern California. He didn't however, rule out a return to the NFL. But he stressed to show hosts Scott and BR that if he does come back, it will only be with New England. "Obviously there's gotta be a need for me on a team that has a chance, which is the New England Patriots," he said. "I'm not just gonna play the game because I love the game; it has to be that there's a purpose as to why I'd go back and play in the National Football League, and that is to help finish what we started last year with the Pats. And that's the only reason I'm looking into that. "Other than that, going in and playing for another team besides the Pats, it would be a waste of my time and a waste of theirs." Seau said he's rehabbing his surgically-repaired rotator cuff in the water, and revealed that he played with the problem for 15 games last season. The 18-year veteran and two other investors will open the first Southern California branch of Ruby Tuesday's in San Bernardino on Tuesday. The plan is to build seven more in the next 18 months and 20 in four to five years. |
