The Patriots are currently holding practice on the lower practice field behind Gillette Stadium in shells and shorts.

Wes Welker returned to practice today after leaving the Aug. 22 game against Philadelphia with a rib injury.

Here is who was not on the field:

DB Brandon Meriweather
RB Kevin Faulk (suspended)
C Dan Connolly
G/C Russ Hochstein
TE Benjamin Watson
WR Sam Aiken
DL Le Kevin Smith
