FOXBORO -- Matt Cassel, who didn't throw a single touchdown pass in the preseason -- and who hadn't thrown one in the regular season since he was a rookie in 2005 -- hit Randy Moss on third down for 10 yards and a touchdown, giving New England a 7-0 lead with 11:45 to go 'til halftime.
Even more impressively, the scoring toss capped a 98-yard drive that Cassel directed after coming off the bench when Tom Brady went down with a knee injury on the Pats' previous series.
