Click the play button below to hear Shalise Manza Young's comments, recorded this morning. The topics: Joey Porter; the injuries to Laurence Maroney and LaMont Jordan and what that might mean to the Patriots' offensive philosophy; Jake Long's big test against Richard Seymour; and the challenge for Chad Pennington of running an offense without many receiving threats.
Here's what Shalise said about Maroney and Jordan:
"I wouldn't expect to see them on Sunday. ... Laurence Maroney did come in late in the game against the Jets. I don't know if that was a test to see how bad his shoulder really was. It's a tough thing for him -- obviously every player wants to stay healthy -- but he's already starting to hear people say that he's fragile, because now this would be the third time in three years that he's missed time because of an injury. So, you would expect to see them air it out a little bit more. The Patriots still have Kevin Faulk, who can run the ball even though we know him as a third-down receiver. Heath Evans has proven capable in the past when they've called on him, and actually might still hold a little bit of a grudge against the Dolphins. That was his hometown team and they signed him a couple years ago and then cut him a month into the season."
