The New England Patriots have just released a statement to rebut an ESPN story which said today that the organization was upset with Tom Brady for having his knee surgery in Los Angeles rather than in Boston with the Pats' team surgeons. Brady has developed an infection in the left knee, which he had surgically repaired on Oct. 6; today, the Boston Herald reported that Brady has undergone three -- not just one, as the quarterback acknowledged on his personal website -- subsequent procedures aimed at cleaning out the infection. The statement reads: "Today, ESPN cited an unnamed source who supposedly expressed the feelings of the Patriots 'organization.' This unsubstantiated report does not represent the team's views whatsoever. We have supported Tom Brady one hundred percent from day one of this process and will continue to do so. We issued a statement last Saturday expressing our complete organizational support for Tom. That support includes all aspects of the process. Unfortunately, our statement was not mentioned or referenced in ESPN's report. Today, we reiterate our total support for Tom as he recovers from his injury." |
