Doctors are so concerned with the infection in Tom Brady's left knee that they have performed three procedures in an attempt to eliminate it, according to The Boston Herald, which quotes an unnamed West Coast source familiar with the Patriots quarterback's condition.
Brady said last week on his web site that following his Oct. 6 surgery to repair torn ligaments in his knee, he had an arthroscopic procedure done to clean the wound. But the Herald report indicates that there have been two more procedures performed since that time.
The newspaper's source says there is a fear that the patellar tendon graft used to replace Brady's ACL is in danger of being compromised, which could necessitate the ACL reconstruction being removed and redone from scratch.
