SAN DIEGO -- Patriots kicker Stephen Gostkowski's streak of 17 consecutive field goals made came to an end in the first quarter, when he missed a 48-yarder on the Patriots' first possession.

The kick would have tied the game, 3-3.

Gostkowski had been 10-for-10 this season, after having made his final seven regular-season attempts last year.

He now has made 30 of his last 33 regular-season, FG attempts.
