Just before media members were escorted out of the Patriots' locker room today, NT Vince Wilfork appeared to talk about his meeting with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell yesterday. "The meeting was productive. I think both sides were happy," Wilfork said. "I got a chance for him to hear my side of my story and how I approach the game. I got a chance to hear what he had to say about the whole situation of my past history and playing football and all that good stuff. I think we both left pretty happy." Both profootballtalk.com and The Boston Globe are reporting that Wilfork will not be suspended, just fined for the hit. NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said the league had no comment on those reports and that fines are announced on Fridays. Wilfork said he was waiting to find out if he'll be fined and avoided a suspension. A Pro Bowler last year, Wilfork was fined four times last season. |
