BY JIM DONALDSON INDIANAPOLIS -- Helped by a 91-yard opening drive in which they ran 15 plays and consumed 9:02, the Colts had the ball for 10:33 in the first quarter, which ended with Indianapolis holding a 7-0 lead. But it was the Patriots who controlled the clock in the second quarter, when a pair of 13-play drives resulted in field goals. The Pats had the ball for 10:58 in the second quarter, giving them a slight edge in time of possession at halftime -- 15:25 to 14:35 -- although they trailed by a point on the scoreboard, 7-6. |
