MIAMI -- The first player drafted in the Bill Parcells era in Miami was left tackle Jeff Long of Michigan.

The 6-7, 310-pound Long also was the first player taken in the entire 2008 draft, becoming only the second offensive lineman taken with the first overall pick since 1970. Orlando Pace was taken No. 1 out of Ohio State in 1997 and went on to have an outstanding career with the Rams.
