Monday locker room look: Quick turnaround, dealing without AD

Hey all --

We've just been kicked out of the Patriots' locker room. The players were in meetings today, wrapping up their win over the Bills yesterday and reviewing film from that game (mostly the things they can correct), before moving onto preparations for the Jets.

The players that did talk said it helps that New England is so familiar with New York, and that aids with the quick turnaround. Jarvis Green and Logan Mankins echoed Richard Seymour's thoughts from last night, that the challenge will be more mental than physical.

With Adalius Thomas gone for the season with a broken right arm, Pierre Woods got a lot of attention from the media throng, and then good-naturedly chastised the masses for only being attentive now that his defensive snaps are going to go up (for the record, yours truly always chats with Woods, so I was excluded from his comments).

Vince Redd also answered a few questions. The 6-foot-6 rookie is a leading candidate to move up to the 53-man roster when New England places Thomas on injured reserve, and while he's been on the practice squad this season, he's familiar with the Patriots' system from his time at Virginia, where former Bill Belichick assistant Al Groh is head coach, and at Liberty, where head coach Danny Rocco was a former Groh assistant.

Laurence Maroney is scheduled to make an appearance at the Reebok store here at Patriot Place starting at 5 p.m., and the hope is that he'll answer a few questions. Reporters have not had a chance to talk with the running back since he was placed on injured reserve last month.
