FOXBORO -- The New England Patriots have put rookie linebacker Shawn Crable on injured reserve, meaning that Crable will miss the rest of the season with a shin injury.
Crable, a third-round pick out of the University of Michigan, has been a game-day inactive for all eight of New England's games so far this season.
To replace Crable on the roster, the Patriots re-signed cornerback Jason Webster, who has played eight NFL seasons with the 49ers, the Falcons and the Bills. The Patriots signed Webster in the offseason but released him in August.
