Pats stopping themselves

FOXBORO -- After cutting the Jets' lead to 24-13 at halftime on a 19-yard TD pass from Matt Cassel to Jabar Gaffney with just 15 seconds left in the second quarter, the Pats fumbled away a chance to keep that momentum going in the second half.

They were driving efficiently after receiving the second-half kickoff, but lost possession when tight end Ben Watson lost a fumble at the NY 22.

New England got the ball right back, but that drive effectively ended when center Dan Koppen snapped the ball when Cassel, who was in the shotgun formation, wasn't looking, resulting in a drive-killing, 23-yard loss.
