Patriots head coach Bill Belichick just said the following in his press conference at San Jose State University, where the Pats are preparing for Sunday afternoon's meeting with the Raiders:

"Matt Cassel's father passed Monday night. Our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family. From a football standpoint, we'll just handle it with the other guys like we do in another situation. Right now we're taking it day to day. He's going to take care of what he's got to take care of."
