ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. -- Lamont Jordan's 2-yard touchdown run capped an 11-play, 43-yard drive into the howling wind that featured two key, fourth-down conversions and gave the Patriots a 10-0 lead with 4:39 remaining in the third quarter.
On 4th-and-2 at the Buffalo 25, Cassel faked a handoff to Jordan and scrambled for 6 yards. Then, on 4th-and-5 at the Bills' 14, the Patriots disdained a field goal attempt and went for the first down -- successfully, as Wes Welker caught a quick pass in the left flat and turned it into a 12-yard gain to the 2.
