| Football Today -- Seau's back, but can he play? »
The Patriots have just announced the signing of LB Junior Seau; to make room for Seau on the roster, fellow LB Adalius Thomas was placed on injured reserve. Seau worked out for New England yesterday evening, and will be asked to step in immediately -- currently, the Patriots have just four healthy linebackers, Mike Vrabel, Jerod Mayo, Gary Guyton, and Rosevelt Colvin. Pierre Woods broke his jaw against Pittsburgh on Sunday, and Vince Redd apparently suffered an ankle injury in that game as well. Tedy Bruschi has been limited in practice recently with a knee problem, though he has yet to miss a game. Thomas broke his right forearm against Buffalo on Nov. 9 and underwent surgery three days later. Because he had not yet been placed on IR, it was assumed there was a chance he would be able to return at some point before the end of the season. |
