The Patriots placed LB Pierre Woods on injured reserve today, ending his season due to a broken jaw suffered against the Steelers a few weeks ago. Woods was a starter for the first time in his career due to Adalius Thomas' injury a couple of weeks earlier; he hurt his jaw in the third quarter tackling Pittsburgh TE Heath Miller. Connolly spent the first five games of this season on New England's 53-man roster but was a day-of-game inactive for each. He has played in four career games, all with Jacksonville in 2005.
