| Ex-NFL executive Michael Lombardi says Pats will put franchise tag on Cassel »
According to NFL Network's Adam Schefter, the Cleveland Browns want to leave New England with a new general manager. Schefter reports that Browns' brass are meeting with Pioli in the region today, and want an answer on whether he'd like to take over the Cleveland front office by the end of the day. If Pioli decides to return to Cleveland, the place where he got his NFL start when Bill Belichick was head coach of the "old" Browns (before they were moved to Baltimore), he could be taking something with him: the Browns have also requested permission to talk with Pats' offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels about their head coaching gig. The Boston Globe is also reporting that the Kansas City Chiefs have requested permission to speak with Pioli about their GM opening. |
