The Boston Herald's Dave Wedge reports today that New England Patriots defensive lineman Ty Warren spent about $1,300 buying clothing for a Warwick family that was recently made homeless by a fire that started in their kitchen.
Warren learned about the family when he met Xavier Monteiro, one of three children in the family, at his annual Holiday Shopping Blitz at Bob's Store in South Attleboro. At the event, Warren usually gives children from local Boys and Girls Clubs $300 each for a holiday shopping spree. But when he learned about Xavier's situation, he changed the rules and dug a little deeper.
