The Patriots are conducting their first practice of the week, back on the fields at San Jose State University. The players were in shells and shorts/sweatpants.

QB Matt Cassel, as expected, was not present. On the positive side for New England, however, Vince Wilfork, Ty Warren, Kelley Washington and Vince Redd were all present for the media-access portion of the session. Wilfork left Sunday's game in the first quarter with a shoulder injury; Warren did not play or practice last week due to his groin; and Washington (thigh) and Redd (ankle) also did not play against the Seahawks or practice last week.

There were four players not present:

LB Tedy Bruschi (left knee)
LB Pierre Woods (jaw)
