Website profootballtalk.com has been following a story today involving former Patriots' receiver Donte Stallworth, who now plays for the Browns.
Stallworth was detained and questioned by Miami Beach police this morning regarding his alleged involvement in an accident that killed a 49-year old pedestrian. A Miami Beach PD spokesman told PFT that Stallworth has been cooperative; he underwent a mandatory blood draw to determine whether he was driving under the influence of alcohol or any other substance.
Stallworth has not yet been formally charged with a crime.
Cleveland, which decided on Friday not to release Stallworth and therefore will pay him a $4.875 million roster bonus, has released a statement saying: "We are aware of the incident involving Donte Stallworth and have been in contact with his representatives. We understand the seriousness of this situation, but will not have any further comment at this time as this is an ongoing investigation."
