According to this post on nfl.com, the Patriots hosted West Virginia quarterback Pat White at Gillette Stadium yesterday -- and had him spend the majority of his workout as a wide receiver.
The first college QB to start and win four bowl games, White prefers to remain at quarterback in the NFL, but knows that his opportunity may come at another position, as he is not 6-feet tall. White worked at both quarterback and receiver at the NFL Combine last month, but at West Virginia's pro day he worked only at quarterback, saying he'd workout at receiver by request. None of the 25 teams in attendance asked at the pro day, but apparently teams will ask in private workouts.
White also reportedly had a private workout with Denver this week.
