The Patriots have announced several transactions today:

New England acquired WR Greg Lewis and an undisclosed 2010 draft pick from the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for an undisclosed 2009 draft pick. Lewis has spent all six seasons of his career with the Eagles; he was originally signed by the team as an undrafted rookie out of Illinois in 2003. The 6-foot, 180-pounder has played in 90 games (23 starts) with 127 catches for 1,699 yards (13.4 yards per catch) and seven touchdowns. Lewis also has 41 special-teams tackles.

He is likely best remembered by Patriots fans for his first career touchdown -- a 30-yard score against New England in Super Bowl XXXIX.

The Boston Globe reported that New England was sending Philly a fifth-round pick, though that had not been confirmed.

The Patriots also confirmed that S James Sanders had been re-signed, as well as P Chris Hanson and LB Eric Alexander.

LB Darrell Robertson, who was on the Pats' practice squad for the last six weeks of the season and signed to a futures contact on Dec. 30, was released.
