This is a couple of days old, but yahoo.com reported from the NFL meetings in Dana Point, Calif. that free agent Jason Taylor's top choice for his next team is the New England Patriots.
The story cited two sources close to Pro Bowler.
Taylor was released by the Washington Redskins after saying that he preferred to workout in Florida during the offseason, where he can spend time with his family.
When Pats' owner Robert Kraft was asked about Taylor, he smiled widely and called him a great player, adding: "I'm sure that can happen if he wants it."
Gary Wichard, Taylor's agent, isn't saying which teams he's heard of in regards to Taylor. But Taylor is a great fit all around for New England: he can play outside linebacker in the 3-4, he's nearing the end of his career and wants a chance to win, Bill Belichick has a tremendous amount of respect for him, and he's good friends with Tom Brady.
