Patrick Chung, listed at 5-foot-11, 212 pounds, was the Patriots' choice with the second pick of the second round, number 34 overall.
Chung was born in Kingston, Jamaica and move to California with his family when he was a child. The former Oregon Duck has excellent vision and field awareness, according to scouting reports, does a good job of making calls in the secondary, has excellent reaction skills, retains information easily and is an aggressive tackler and diligent worker.
He is graded very highly as a zone coverage player, but not so much in man coverage; New England does favor zone in the secondary.
He started the final 51 games of his college career, the most starts of any defensive player in Oregon history, and recorded 384 total tackles, fourth-most in school history.
