The Patriots selected Hawai'i long snapper Jake Ingram with the 25th pick in the sixth round, 198th overall. Ingram is 6-foot-4, and according to an article written about him in the Honolulu Star-Bulletin before the Rainbow Warriors' bowl game this year, he had fired 111 snaps on the season without a slip-up, though it took the former defensive lineman a while to accept his new role on the football field. Hawaii special teams coach Ikaika Malloe is quoted as saying Ingram consistently got the ball into the hands of punter/kicker Tim Grasso in 0.67 seconds. Longtime New England snapper Lonie Paxton signed a free-agent deal with Denver earlier this year; the Pats signed former Arizona LS Nathan Hodel. |
