The New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills, both original members of the American Football League, will wear historic uniforms for their regular-season-opening game in Foxboro on Monday night, Sept. 14. The game has been tagged by the NFL as one of 16 "legacy games" that will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the AFL. The Oakland Raiders and the San Diego Chargers -- both also original AFL teams (although the Chargers started in Los Angeles) will follow suit when they open their seasons later that same night.

The Patriots will also wear throwbacks for three other games: Oct. 11, at the Denver Broncos; Oct. 18, when they host the Tennessee Titans (the former Houston Oilers); and Dec. 8, at the Miami Dolphins.

Game-worn jerseys and signed memorabilia will be auctioned off throughout the season, with money raised going to the NFL Player Care Foundation. And a legacy collection, featuring retro-themed clothes and other products, will be debut this summer on NFLShop.com and at stores.
