Near the end of the players' long-drive contest at the Patriots' charity golf event this morning at The International in Bolton, Mass., Vince Wilfork arrived.

Before reporters could ask why the player, who has stayed away from voluntary organized team activities this offseason, decided to be part of the day's event, team PR ushered us away. It was explained that the interview period was over; however, Wilfork did appear on WEEI but did not say whether he will be at the team's mandatory mini-camp on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of this week.
