Vince Wilfork, who was appearing in Boston on behalf of his foundation's diabetes research fundraising efforts, said that he was not sure whether he would be in attendance next week, when the Patriots begin mandatory minicamps. Wilfork is unhappy with the status of contract negotiations for an extension that will keep him in New England beyond 2009.
Wifork has not attended the team's OTA practice sessions, which are voluntary, to this point. Asked if he would be at minicamp when it begins on Wednesday, he said, "We'll see. I don't know."
Wilfork promised that he would be ready to play when the regular season begins, but would not even commit to attending training camp later this summer. We'll have more on this later.
