Jeff Darlington, a pro football writer for the Miami Herald, predicts that Michael Vick will end up in Foxboro. He has one bit of interesting if flawed reasoning -- that PETA protests won't make much of a splash in smalltown Foxboro -- to support his prediction:
"Beyond the notion that he'll be nurtured by Belichick, who has already proven to turn Randy Moss into a comeback success story, here's one final, strange reason why I think Vick could view the Patriots as the perfect destination for his newly desired lifestyle:
Foxboro is a quiet place, even quieter than a moderate midwest city like Indianapolis. If Vick's arrival causes the type of Animal Rights protests that some are expecting, having those protests in a town like Foxboro isn't going to cause nearly the type of waves as it might cause in a bigger city in a more central location.
Really, for many reasons, it's an ideal fit. It's a fit that would probably even please Roger Goodell, who has still yet to decide when he'll actually allow Vick to take the field.
So get ready, Dolphins fans. And, twice per year, be prepared to see one of the NFL's most controversial, most athletic names to ever play the game.''
