New England PR maven Stacey James has just made the rounds in the press box, confirming that Michael Vick did not work out for the Patriots today.

A Miami Herald report said that Vick was working out in Foxboro at 3:30 p.m.

That report flew in the face of a report by the Associated Press, which placed Vick in a Virginia bankruptcy court. The Boston Globe's Mike Reiss has blogged within the past hour that Vick won't be a Patriot now or ever, and former ProJo Pats reporter Tom Curran tweeted as much this afternoon as well.

Oh, and lest anymore rumormongering/crazy stories develop (working off a notion profootballtalk.com had), Bill Belichick, Nick Caserio and Bill O'Brien were all on the field for both practice sessions...so none of them were in Virginia working out Vick.

Not to pat myself on the back, but I believe I gave my opinion on this a week ago, and a lot of the things I said then are being echoed by others now, many of them colleagues I have a great deal of respect for.
