What, did you expect a full-fledged health discussion from Patriots coach Bill Belichick on the health of Tom Brady's shoulder. Please.
The Pats coach just finished a 20 minute press call where he was asked - several different ways - how Tom Brady's shoulder was feeling. Brady was flattened by 350-pound Redskins lineman Albert Haynesworth as he threw a deep ball intended for Greg Lewis on the final play of New England's final drive of the first half. Brady landed awkwardly on his throwing shoulder, and walked off the field stretching the joint.
"I don't really have anything to add from last night," Belichick said. "I'm not really comfortable getting into a public diagnosis of anything."
Asked if that means Brady needed to be diagnosed, the coach answered "I'm saying that we made the decision to play other quarterbacks in the second half of the Washington game because we wanted to see them play. That'll be the same situation going forward into the Giant game. Tom had a desire to play but we made a football decision to play other players because I think we need to see them play at that position and make an evaluation there."
Belichick also spoke about backup QB Kevin O'Connell (3-of-10 passing), the team's shaky pass defense and some improved special teams play.
