Randy Moss, as expected, was present for the afternoon's practice, which was held in shells and shorts (except for rookie Jake Ingram, who was in his pads pants). The rest of the absent list was much the same as this morning:
DE Richard Seymour
CB Shawn Springs
CB Jonathan Wilhite
LB Tedy Bruschi
TE Benjamin Watson
DE Le Kevin Smith
OL Ryan O'Callaghan
OL Al Johnson
OL George Bussey
DL Myron Pryor
* In 7-on-7 work, Tom Brady lofted a pass to Moss in the corner of the end zone but rookie Darius Butler jumped and tipped the ball away.
* In 11-on-11 work, the emphasis on red zone/goal line continued, and it appeared that the extra time Brady spent with Chris Baker may have paid off quickly, as the pair hooked up on at least two successful plays.
* Kevin O'Connell looked to Moss in the back of the end zone -- Moss' bread-and-butter, at the goalpost spot -- and Patrick Chung denied him the ball.
* In 2-minute work, Brady completed a bomb to Joey Galloway. Galloway got good separation from Leigh Bodden and James Sanders wasn't close enough to make a play before Galloway went out of bounds near the 10-yard line. Brady threw incomplete to Moss, then had a completion to Welker on second down. His third-down try to Kevin Faulk was batted out of Faulk's hands by Jerod Mayo. On fourth down, Brady looked to Moss at the goalpost and found Brandon Meriweather instead. Meriweather came a few steps out of the end zone and then did a little breakdance on the grass with the ball.
