Randy Moss and Jarvis Green, who missed this morning's session, were back on the field this afternoon, but Joey Galloway, who did practice this morning, wasn't present.
The list of absentees: Richard Seymour, Matt Light, Benjamin Watson, Tedy Bruschi, Jonathan Wilhite, Galloway, Stephen Neal, Ryan O'Callaghan, Darryl Richard, Myron Pryor, Al Johnson and Tom Malone (waived).
* During early drills, when several receivers/running backs run routes and three or four of the quarterbacks throw to them, Randy Moss thrilled the crowd, having two balls thrown at him in succession and catching one in each hand.
* The JUGS machine was again used on kickoffs to save Stephen Gostkowski's leg. The Patriots do not have another kicker in camp to challenge the Pro Bowler.
* Julian Edelman once again struggled on returns. This time, a kickoff went off his facemask and bounced into the arms of one of the players on kick coverage.
* With about 20 minutes remaining in the session, Bill Belichick called the entire team to the center of the field. We weren't able to hear what he said, but chances are he was making a point. 11-on-11 and two-minute work followed.
* Jerod Mayo got a hit in, popping Laurence Maroney out of bounds on a screen that Maroney was trying to take up the sideline. This morning, Mayo said he has put on some extra muscle.
* Tom Brady and Randy Moss spent a few minutes by themselves about midway through the practice; during spring camps they did this often, just the two of them working together. In 11-on-11 work, a Brady pass intended for Moss was high, and the 6-foot-4 wideout had to go up after the ball, with Darius Butler jumping as well. Moss got his hands on the ball but couldn't pull it in, tumbling to the grass with Butler.
* There were 10,200 fans on hand.
