Kevin O'Connell has taken over at quarterback to start the second half, which is something of a surprise given that it was believed that the Pats' starters would play into the third quarter.
However, with Tom Brady landed on his throwing shoulder toward the end of the second quarter when he was hit by Redskins defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth. It is possible that he is simply being held out as a precaution. For the most part, he looked sharp in leading New England on three first-half scoring drives.
I do not see Brady on the Patriots' sideline. (Edited to add: Other reporters here in the press box have said that they saw Brady come onto the field for the start of the third quarter, then left with a team doctor. The doctor has returned, Brady has not.)
Brady's stat line: 12-for-19 for 150 yards and two touchdowns to Randy Moss.
