Patriots linebacker Jerod Mayo sprained the medial collateral ligament in his right knee during Monday's game, according to a report tonight by The Boston Globe's Christopher Gasper. The report cites two unnamed "sources with direct knowledge" of the injury.

One source says that Mayo is expected to miss six to eight weeks, while another says the injury is not as bad and that Mayo should return sooner.
