It was a packed house here today at Gillette Stadium, with both Bill Belichick and Tom Brady at the podium in advance of the Patriots' regular season opener against Buffalo -- there were broadcast teams here from both Germany and Japan as well as NFL Network and the usual cast of local stations.
Belichick is still not discussing Richard Seymour: when asked if he's "monitoring the situation closely," the coach quipped, "Right now I'm focused on the Bills. I'm monitoring that closely."
When the follow-up question came that if the trade of Seymour to Oakland falls apart Seymour's rights will revert back to New England, Belichick said, "Whatever happens, we'll deal with it when it happens."
Inside the locker room, Shawn Springs talked about Terrell Owens, a guy he's covered throughout his career, as the two were in the NFC West (Seattle/San Francisco), NFC East (Washington/Philly-Dallas) and now the AFC East.
Springs wasn't about to give up the goods on Owens as far as what's in his now-famous notebooks, but said what isn't always understood about the receiver who's persona is larger than Buffalo is that he works extremely hard and is an intelligent football player.
Also chatting in the locker room: Kevin Faulk, Logan Mankins, Benjamin Watson and Jonathan Wilhite.
