DENVER -- The 53-yard field goal by Stephen Gostkowski with 3:51 in the first quarter is a career-long for the fourth-year kicker.

It gave the Patriots a 10-0 lead, although that should have been 14-0 because, on the previous play, QB Tom Brady overthrew Randy Moss, who was wide open near the end zone.

Earlier in the game, Gostkowski twice boomed kickoffs high and deep into the end zone. Immediately following his FG, he again hit another KO into the end zone that the Broncos downed for a touchback.
