Sports Illustrated annually conducts anonymous surveys with players from each of the four major sports and publishes the results during the respective seasons. In this week's Sports Illustrated, the magazine reveals who the 264 respondents of the NFL poll consider the most underrated player in their league.

The answer: Wes Welker.

Welker received 7 percent of the vote, followed by Saints' QB Drew Brees at 5 percent. Chargers' RB Darren Sproles, Jets' RB Leon Washington and Texans' WR Andre Johnson all received 3 percent of the vote.
