Good teams, like the Indianapolis Colts, find ways to win. Not-so-good teams, like the Houston Texans, find ways to lose. The Texans were poised to put an end to the Colts' 19-game winning streak this afternoon, jumping out to a 17-0 lead in the second quarter in Houston. Then they lost their poise, their mojo, their swagger -- not to mention the game -- in the second half, 35-27. The Colts, who trailed the Patriots by 17 in the fourth quarter two weeks ago at Indianapolis -- and by 13 with less than four minutes to play -- rallied to win that one, 35-34. This afternoon, the Colts scored 28 unanswered points in the second half, turning a 20-7 halftime deficit into a 35-20 lead late in the fourth quarter before the Texans added a final and, as it turned out, meaningless touchdown. The Colts now can tie New England's NFL record of 21 straight regular-season wins by beating Tennessee next Sunday in Indianapolis. They're at home the following weekend, too, taking on former Pats' assistant Josh McDaniels' Denver Broncos. CommentsLeave a comment |
