Jets, Giants Love the Yankees

At least they should.

If not for all the excitement surrounding the Bronx Bombers in the World Series, much more attention would be paid in New York to the way the Jets and Giants have bombed in recent weeks.

The Jets, after a 3-0 start, have lost 4 of 5 and are 1-3 against AFC East rivals, the only win coming against the Patriots in Week Two. Since then, outspoken coach Rex Ryan's lads have lost twice to the Dolphins, who are 1-4 against the rest of the league, and even lost at home to the Bills.

The Jets still are trash-talking the talk, but, instead of also walking the walk, as they did in the opening weeks of the season, they've been falling flat on their faces.

Meanwhile, Tom Coughlin's Giants suddenly can't stop anybody. Two weeks after being trounced in New Orleans, 48-27, they were routed Sunday in Philadelphia, 40-17, and now have lost three straight after winning their first five.

The Giants host San Diego next weekend. The Jets have two weeks to mull over what has gone wrong before taking on Jacksonville.
